Thobela FM Staff Awards 2008

Thobela FM yet celebrates the achievements of its staff members by giving them awards for the hard work and dedication shown during the year. The award ceremony, which will be in form of a gala dinner. The ceremony will be held on Friday, the 07th March 2008 at Honeymoon Lodge in Seshego Township as a way of taking radio where it belongs, to the people.

The objectives of these awards is to encourage and reward hard working officials, increase staff morale and also assisting management in retaining talent in order to keep the brand appealing and ensuring the empowerment of first citizens and stakeholders. The station celebrates the efforts made by its staff members, rewards creativity, talent, commitment and dedication.

This initiative will also highlight the support that the station is giving to its listeners in order to realise that the station is right where the people are. The winners will be voted for by the listeners and will be presented by some of the stakeholders and partners who are involved in making this event a success.

The station has been in a process of creating the new sound and imaging. This imaging will be revealed at the same event. The imaging was developed by Mashabela Creatives. “This is the powerful sound that Thobela FM will be recognized with from the 7th March 2008. The sound is fresh, contemporary and defines the station perfectly.”

The event will be attended by amongst other dignitaries, the Head of SABC PBS, Mr. Thami Ntenteni, the Spokesperson of SABC, Mr. Kaizer Kganyago, and The SABC Limpopo’s Regional General Manager, Mr. Victor Ravhuanzwo.

There will be different forms of entertainment for the invitees, including poetry, comedy and music etc. DJ What What from the stable Will of Steel and DJ Raymond will be taking care of the dance floor.

This is one of those initiatives that will be applauded by both listeners and stakeholders alike. The station ranks no 4 in the top 10 of the country’s most happening radio stations. This Limpopo audience leader, rules Pretoria and also grew audience in the higher LSM especially in Gauteng

The other event that will be taking place the same weekend, that is on the 8th March by the station, is the opening of Sesani’s house. Sesani is a young woman who lost all her family members and had to go through a trauma of watching her mother’s dead body for four months at the morgue. This humble and engaging radio station, that is also broadcasting and acting for Total Citizen Empowerment, in partnership with Mopani District municipality assisted this young woman with the mother’s burial and coordinated that she gets a fully furnished house. The official opening of the house will take place on the 8th March 2008 at Mopye village in Bolobedu.
