Asking for forgiveness

I was blindfolded
I am kneeling down today;
After many years;
Struggling and suffering;
Not knowing where to go;
And not knowing where from;
My pride resulted with nothing;
It killed me;
And I am asking for forgiveness.

I am the son of this land;
My parents were born in this land;
I was born in this land;
And all my relatives were in this land;
It is where I belong;
This land is me;
And my life.

I had a pride;
Which made me regret today;
I rejected my own parents;
I denied my own people;
I rejected my own name;
And of cause;
My roots and ancestors.

I am kneeling here today;
I am begging here today;
I am asking for forgiveness;
I want to know my people;
I want my own parents back;
And I want to serve the people;
Whom I rejected and tortured;

I was blindfolded;
By the pride that rooted on me;
But now I can see the way;
I want to go back to my roots;
To be a real African man.
